Thank you for visiting the homepage of the East Asian Union of Human Genetics Society (EAUHGS). EAUHGS, founded as a regional union of the International Federation of the Human Genetics Society (IFHGS) in 1998. EAUHGS is composed of medical genetics societies from China, Japan and Korea. EAUHGS intends to provide a forum for organized groups in the East Asia area dedicated to all aspects of human genetics, including research, clinical practice, and education. The EAUHGS will enable communication between its member societies and also between regional societies in the world.
EAUHGS is the only academic society in human genetics field in east Asia. Therefore, each of our members is responsible to enhance the communication among not only the member countries but also with other regional unions.
After the human genome project, human genetics became the field of hot issues. I hope and believe that this homepage will give us a great opportunity to promote mutual cooperation in the field of genetics in East Asia. This homepage will help to build the capacity of East Asian researchers and institutions and be an important infrastructure that can support and sustain that capacity. EAUHGS will endeavor to provide a platform on which the wealth of information and research opportunities accruing from genomics and genetics research could be discussed.
